Courses: What we Offer

The Verbal De-escalation program is a modern course that encompass all aspects of communication in difficult situations. This is based on the latest in cognitive behavioural research and their application by expert frontline communicators. This course is based on the Realistic De-escalation course by the Force Science Institute.

The physical Control Tactics program is a compilation of techniques and skills learned and optimized in 30+ years of martial arts training and employment in law enforcement and as a Control Tactics instructor. These techniques were learned from master-instructors around the world.

These verbal and physical control tactics will produce highly trained Peace Officers and Security Professionals.

There are separate instructor courses for verbal control tactics and physical control tactics, because the skill set is very different. The first step in becoming an instructor is completion of the complete verbal control and/or physical control tactics course(s).

CTSS Level 1

CTSS LEVEL 1 is a 16 hour course that provides training in human physiology, use-of-force decision making, situational awareness (summary), tactical communication (summary), arrest procedure, tactical handcuffing, and searching of cooperative subjects.

CTSS LEVEL 2 is a 40 hour course that provides LEVEL 1 certification plus tactical control principles and strategies, impact weapon (baton) use, weapon retention, and ground fighting. CTSS LEVEL 1 and 2 courses do NOT have to be taken separately. Example : Level one is not needed before level two.

Radar/Lidar Operator Course

This RADAR / LIDAR Operator Certification Course is designed for law enforcement professionals with no training and certification OR expired certification in the operation of modern RADAR / LIDAR. The Radar/ Lidar Operator Course is a 16 hours and is the required training to be able to issue speeding violations under the Traffic Safety Act in Alberta. The course includes theory and practical application in a variety of speed enforcement equipment.

TheRADAR / LIDAR Train the Trainer(TtT), Instructor Certification Course is designed for experienced law enforcement professionals with currenttraining and certification in the operation of RADAR / LIDAR. This 4-day intensive course is based on the Understanding Police Traffic RADAR & LIDAR
